Tony Touch- #20 For The Head

Tony Toca is back for 1992! Thats right '92!! Im tellin you man, i never thought Tony was makin tapes way back in the early 90's, i thought he made his name in the mid to late 90s. But this tape is full of flavor from '92. Nothin but classics was released during that year, so expect the same from this tape!!

Doo Wop- ????? '91

Its the bouncemasta again for '91. Thats right, you read it correctly, 1991!! Im gonna be totally honest and say that i had no idea Doo Wop been puttin out tapes since '91!! I mean thats crazy. I was in the 4th grade, and he was puttin out tapes since then. Thats mind boggling. But anyway, this tape is jammin, just think '91 and remember all the jamz out at that time and that's this tape in a nutshell. Also on the intro on this tape Wop throws a subliminal jab at Kid Capri. Why? I dont know. But Kid at that time was da damn man when it came to mixtapes. So I guess its all competition.

Pete Rock & Marley Marl: Future Flavas Show on Hot 97 '95

If you are from NY then you already know what this show was about. If you wasnt, this was a show where Pete Rock & Marley Marl would play brand new hip-hop that was coming out at that time before anyone else. Plus they would also break out new artists on their show and letting the fans pick which one is tight and which one isnt. This particular show is from '95, and was the last show for the year '95 before they head into '96. They played nothin but classics on this one, but the standout joint was when they played for the 1st time the "LA, LA Remix" by CNN, Tragedy & Mobb Deep. This is the one with the Dogg Pound beat (my personal favorite). So please sit back and listen to history being made!

Ecko Unlimited Mixtape '97

We all know clothing lines was fighting for that top spot in '97. I mean Fubu was comin hard, Phat Farm was in the house, Polo Sport, Nautica Competition and Tommy Hilfiger was also in the building. Ecko was trying to stay relavent, i know they been around since '95. I remember seeing their tiny ads in the back of Source Magazine back in the day. But they put out a mixtape in 1997 to help promote themselves and underground hip-hop at that time. And boy did they hit jackpot on this one. There is way too many gems on this tape to name (it dont hurt to mention that i dont know any of the names). Im telling yall, please dont sleep on this tape, you will regret it. If you want to listen to classic underground '97 hip-hop, please listen to this!

Ron G- #1

Once again its Ronnnnn G! This tape started it all, it came out in '91. This right here started his legacy as a pioneer in the blend game. His blends was tight to me cause he played the original R&B song with the beat and just masterfully blended it with a hip-hop beat. It wasnt no put together acapella with a hip-hop beat. Thats trash right there. Ron G made the 2 work together. And on this tape he put an ill Michael Jackson "Man in the Mirror" mix together and that Stephanie Mills mix he did on here is legendary! Kid Capri's version was dope as well! So here's history ladies and gents, please enjoy!

There was no digital age yet, so you had to go out and buy the album. I would say that '98 was the pinnacle of hip-hop at that time.

DJ S&S- ????? '97

Harlem's Back, expect it and respect it! Now all i know about this tape is that its from 1997, plus it came out right after BIG died, cause S&S was talkin about that alot on this tape. Now the name of this tape... i have no idea what it is. If any of you know what it is, please let me know if u get a chance. But neither than that, this tape is jammin all the way through! Craig G- Summer Jamz

Craig G again for the year 1997! If you want to know what the summer of '97 was like, just pop in this tape and find out. Look at the tracklisting my dudes, nothing but bangers after bangers. Like i said many times before, '97 was an ill year in hip-hop. I just cant stress that enough and when you listen to this tape, hopefully you all see where im comin from!

Craig G & P-Nice- Where My Dogz At???

This awesome duo comes together for a ill tape from 1998. This tape is well put together from top to bottom. The ill joint thats on here that i think no one knows about is the Jackson 5 ft. Black Rob "I Want You Back RMX". Puff did the remix on this track for the Motown 25th Anniv. album that was released in late '97. There is a video for this song, but it just shows old Jackson 5 footage throughout it. But please if you can just check it out.

Tony Touch- #54

Tony Toca back again for 1997! Around this time Tony was dropping classic tape after classic tape. And this one does not dissapoint! The joint to check for on this tape is that Group Home "A-Train Express" track. This joint is off the meter, im surprised they didnt shoot a video for this song. Enjoy!

Tales From The Inc. '96

You know back in the days in NYC, i will try to find other tapes that has some dope stuff on there. You know me, i never tried to stick with only certain DJ's back then. So i gave this tape a try back in '96, and its safe to say i struck gold! Just look at the track listing, it has a nice blend of hip-hop that we know and hip-hop that we didnt know (underground). So it was all good, plus after i heard that "Too Complex" joint by L tha Head Toucha, i was hooked. I was jammin this tape for a hot minute! This tape was but together by DJ's out in Rochester, NY. Im glad i copped this tape when i saw it!

Bad Boy Mixtape Vol.1- DJ Clue

The 1st volume of this classic mixtape set is here! This tape is from '95 and Puff enlists Clueminatti to help begin this legendary tape series. This joint encludes nothin but classics from top to bottom. And like I said before Puff is a clown, he's a real funny dude, and you'll see what im talkin about when you hear this tape. Now, i dont think i have the whole tape, but im just posting what i have. Hey, something is better than nothing!

Props to Tapemasta

Yo! i just wanna give props to this man at what he does and what he has. He has shown mad love and support to me in this, and i just want to say that i did get that DJ Camillo joint from him. So for all you that want DJ Camillo joints holla at Tapemasta for them.

Funkmaster Flex- Lil' Cease Album Release Party at the Tunnel 1999

Its Funk figgety again doin his thing at the Tunnel. This tape is from 1999, and its Funk Flex on the 1's & 2's rockin the joint for Lil' Cease's release party. The album was called The Wonderful World of Cease A Leo, and the 1st single was "Play Around". I remember this joint alot cause it was a banger, it was during my senior year in HS. I loved the joint, and I did cop the album when it came out. To me the album was pretty good. If you havent heard it, please take a listen you'll be surprised. Some of the beats off the album I heard many emcee's freestyle off of on numerous tapes around that time. This was a pretty nice tape if you ask me.

Dream Team & Funkmaster Flex- Live At The Tunnel 1997

If you are from NY, you already know that on Sunday nights in the mid-late '90s Funk Flex is at the Tunnel holdin down until the early morning. And this tape is from one of his sets in 1997. And he does a great job of keepin the crowd hype and playin the illest joints that was out in that time from'97. We all heard stories about the Tunnel. I'm from TX, and I heard about the Tunnel all the way down here. If you people want a visual of what the Tunnel looks like, remember the opening scene from Belly? Remember the DMX video "Get At Me Dog"? There you have it. All I knew about that club was that you better not go by yourself, gotta have your team around you, plus always watch your back, I mean your 3rd eye better be on point the whole night! No exceptions! It was not a game! But neither than that, it was legendary nightclub spot to have a good time at.

Cipha Sounds- Big Dawg Pitbulls #4

For all of you that thought Cipha Sounds was just a MTV VJ, you are wrong! This man been in the game for years. Whether it was holdin it down on Hot 97 or being Lil Kim's DJ back in the day. He was also a member of Funkmaster Flex's DJ crew: Big Dawg Pitbulls. And this tape is from 1999! And you gotta have mad clout for Nas to host your tape! Cipha covers all bases on this tape, from east to down south then R&B. Plus he is previewing joints from Nas's I Am album that dropped right after this tape came out. This tape is kinda special cause I graduated from HS in '99, so all of these joints on here we was bangin all year long for the most part. Great memories, cause to me this was the last year hip-hop was still great, after '99 its been a slow decline.

Cipha dont get gassed!!!!

Mister Cee- Chapta Six

A Mister Cee and you dont stop!! This tape is from 1994. Some say this is when the golden era began, and i do agree!! When u look at this tracklisting, its just mind boggling what was was coming out at that time. I mean words cant really describe it. One of the joints I love on here other than obvious ones, is the Ill Biskitz joint "God Bless Ya Life"! That right there is '94 in nutshell to me. Just makin good music and keepin it real! Almost makes me wanna cry!

Bad Boy Mixtape Vol.4- DJ S&S

Another classic Bad Boy tape done by DJ S&S for the year '96! Puffy does alot of venting on this tape, that 2pac "Hit Em Up" record had just came out before this tape dropped. So you already know what time it was, Puff just had to get a couple of things off his chest. But neither than that, its all positive.
