KaySlay for 2003. Another real dope tape with some real ill jamz on here. Plus it has one of the bangers of 2003 that Beyonce & Jay Z "Crazy in Love" joint. Hey im a man to admit that joint was hot, couldnt front on it!Tuesday, March 31, 2009
DJ KaySlay- The Month Of The Bad Guy Pt.2
KaySlay for 2003. Another real dope tape with some real ill jamz on here. Plus it has one of the bangers of 2003 that Beyonce & Jay Z "Crazy in Love" joint. Hey im a man to admit that joint was hot, couldnt front on it!Cutmaster C- Why Ya'll So Mad

Cutmaster is back again for 2003. Hosted by the very funny Mad Rapper (whose '99 LP wasnt that bad). One of the main highlights on this tape is a unreleased Jay Z track called 45. This is another stumper for me that how in the world did this song not make the final cut for any of his albums. This song is crazy! Yall will see.
DJ KaySlay- The Drama Kings
KaySlay once more for 2003. And this tape is an exapmle of what KaySlay is known for, beef! He was the 1st one to have 50, Eminem & Busta's response diss song towards Ja Rule. Now the shocker is that Busta is on this track. And we know Busta isnt known for beefin wit anyone, he's cool with everybody. But Ja had some words towards him in a diss song and i guess Busta wasnt wit that. Considering the fact that these artists used to be kool (Busta was on Ja's remix of Holla, Holla). But that diss was hottest joint out for awhile and most people got a kick out of Busta's verse. Quite hilarious if u ask me, me and my boys was laughing for days.DJ Enuff & Kast One- State Of Emergency Pt.3

Now we all know Dj Enuff's status in the DJ scene. Pretty much legendary if i would say, Biggie's DJ, well known gig's on Hot 97 and the original DJ on BET's Freestyle Friday (when it was da shit!!)! Those are some good credentials. But his status in the mixtape game? I dont know if any. But in 2003 he made his entrance in it, and for his 1st time i would give him a A. This tape got mad play from me back then, its loaded with some nice cuts that were jammin at that time. So much props to Enuff for this.Big Mike- Year Of The Rookie Pt.3
Big Mike back at you for 2003. With some hosting help by KaySlay. As u see the Lebron photo, i remember at that time he was da man and he was only in high school. Plus i remember we was at a mall in VA, and in this one store they was selling his high school jersey and some people was saying that he wasnt gonna be that good in the NBA and they didnt understand why they would sell his jersey while he was still in high school. I wonder what those people are saying now?DJ Envy & Big Mike- Ahead Of The Competition 3.7
Another collabo with these 2 DJ's, this is from 2004. The only reason why i copped this one at that time was get Jay Z's "Ignorant Shit". This track to me is one of Hov's most illest tracks he ever done! Just Blaze took that Isley Brothers sample to another level man. This joint just gets my hyped everytime i hear it. But how in the world did this song not make the final cut on the Black Album? This is a mystery im still trying to figure out.DJ Envy & Big Mike- Ahead Of The Competition 3

Envy & Big Mike collaborate again on a tape from 2004. Now like i said before, Mase came back in '04 and while most people liked his return others didnt. For one, i was glad he was able to squash his beef with Jay Z after all those years when Mase came out and performed live for him on his tour after R. Kelly ran out on him. So i was happy about that. But Cam & Jim Jones didnt appreciate that much that he came back. And as u see on this tape their convo on Hot 97 didnt go to well. But it been long rumored that Cam & Mase fell out after Mase didnt appear in the Horse & Carriage video. Im not gonna lie, i was kinda thrown off by that as well considering the classic video they did for .357. Its just sad all around cause at that time i thought they was a dynamic duo. But now u couldnt pay me enough to listen to Cam and im not even gonna mention Jim Jones. 2 other hightlights on this tape is 2 remixes Kanye did for his own Jesus Walks ft. Mase & Mase's Welcome Back ft. Kanye. Kanye did his thing on those 2 remixes, no way u can front on those!http://rapidshare.com/files/215800575/DJE_BM-_AOTC3.rar
DJ KaySlay- And The Winner Is.......
Another phat KaySlay tape from late '02-early '03! Everytime i look at the track listing on this tape it just bring back memories of when i was living in VA. And the hype was crazy for 50 who was a hot new artist, Hov was about to drop The Blueprint 2 and Esco was about to drop God Son. So it was alot goin on at this time. Check it out.Monday, March 30, 2009
DJ KaySlay- Street Justice Pt.7
Kayslay is back again. This joint dropped late '02-early '03. Alot of hot joints was out at that time. The showstopper on the tape is #16, its a track that dj's from the past & present got on and spit some rhymes on. U will be surprised by some of these dj's lyrical skills. But its the beat of the track that got me, whoever produced this track did a great job of flipping that MGM Studios theme music ( you know, the music that plays before the movie with lion roaring in that little center circle). I must have jammed that joint like 10x straight. And i knew i was on to something cause my brother was jammin that song as well. Peep the flav yall!DJ Envy- Something Like A Rapper 2
DJ Envy- Cut The Check Pt.2
DJ KaySlay- Certified Troublemakers Pt.3
aka Slap ur favorite DJ is back for 2004. This joint is hosted by Fat Joe who at the time had the hottest joint out "Lean Back' with Terror Squad. Too bad it didnt convert into album sales. Another story for another time. But dont sleep on #20, that Young Gunz "Grown Man" remix featuring and produced by Kanye. This is defintely a rarity for all u Kanye West fans out there. Check it out!DJ Envy- The New York Mixtape Massacre
Big Mike- Dead Or Alive Pt.3

DJ Envy, Big Mike & Tapemasters Inc.- Ahead Of The Competition
On this one Envy & Big Mike collaborates with Tapemasters Inc. for a nice tape! Tapemasters Inc. started to be recognized around '05 by collaborating or themselves puttin out tapes. I think Tapemasta himself is affiliated with the group (correct me if im wrong Tapemasta). As u can see this tape is from 2004. This came out right around the time Mase came back. Myself was very happy he came back cause i was a huge fan of his. I thought if he hadnt left he woulda been mentioned with the greats. His style was crazy man. But i did not cop his Welcome Back album cause i just knew it wasnt gonna be as good as his 1st LP, plus it was a different time in hip-hop. Im glad i didnt waste my money on it looking back in retrospect. But Mase will be forever in my all-time top 10 MC's! One of the main reasons I copped this tape is also to get Fabolous' "Breathe", Just Blaze took it to another level with that banger!DJ Envy- America's Nightmare Pt.2
Envy was a DJ who closely studied the game before he made his move. He came up under DJ Clue who taught him the game. Envy made his move in the late 90's comin out with some very nice tapes. And he is another face of the mixtape game when it made its transition back in '02. Now u rarely hear from him (its not like i am checkin for him), but his name is a name people know. Not to mention he put out a nice album back in '03 (that Jay Z "HOVA" track is nuts!!). This tape is from 2004, please enjoy yall!Big Mike- Max Payne 2
Another Big Mike joint from 2003. Please yall, dont sleep on track #4 that G-unit joint, its not that its G-unit its the beat! Whoever produced that beat did a great job of flipping a Faith Evans sample. That song isnt on any G-unit artist album so basically its unrealeased. I must played that joint like 10x straight when i 1st heard it! Check it out!Cutmaster C- Keep Talkin Pt.1

Cutmaster C was a DJ who garnered much acclaim in '90's for puttin some nice tapes. He had his own little style that was pretty nice. Howwever that run ended by the beginning of the new millieneium. This tape is from '03 and as u can see i guess he had a little bit of beef with Big Mike. Why? I couldnt tell ya or care by that matter. I just bring the music!! Oh, and dont front on that Fabolous track on here, its one of my favs. from him.

DJ KaySlay- Addicted To Beef
KaySlay aka Slap your favorite DJ. Yall know how this man do. The mixtape game needed a face for its new transition and this man stepped up to the plate. Around late 2001 is when i 1st heard of him. I had copped one of his tapes and i thought dude was pretty nice. But he cemented his place in the mixtape game back in the summer of '01 or '02 (cant remember), when he was the 1st to put on his tape that infamous Jay-Z freestyle he did at Summer Jam dissin Prodigy and Nas. I remember i was living in VA at the time, and my friends and the streets went crazy over that tape! It was the hottest joint out!! Plus a few tapes after that, he was the 1st one to have Nas' "Ether" on one his tapes. So those 2 back to back moments elevated his status in the game. I remember those moments vividly. Another tid bit was he was one of the 1st DJ's to have artists host a full tape, now u got to have alot of pull to do that. Slay had it on lock for about 3-4 years. This tape came out in '04, in which to me was a bad year in hip-hop but thats another story. Check the flav yall!Big Mike- Big Boy Game VI
Now this DJ took full advantage of the mixtape game when it made its transition after 2002. It went from being creative with ill concepts to having the exclusive records and freestyles, and Big Mike was the man to fill that void. Im not gonna lie I was a fan of his when i used to listen to new hip-hop. This tape came out in '05 right when Kanye's "Graduation" LP was gettin ready to drop. Hope yall enjoy, and there's plenty more to come!!Selecta Bam Bam- Copycat Killa
Mini Update
What up peoples, i just wanted to give yall an update on whats goin on!
Remember i told yall that i had tons of mixtapes from '02-05 that i have gave away to a friend of mine. It included a whole lot of stuff from kaySlay to Big Mike, to G-Unit stuff to some Diplomats stuff to some Best of's to some..... well yall get the point. Well the great thing is i was able to get that stuff back! I was kinda lucky he still had this stuff cause he coulda gave it away to somebody else. Like i told yall many times before i do this for yall, not me. Me personally, the mixtape game went to crap after '01. Thats why i gave way all the ones i had after that, but also some of these artists thats on these tapes u wouldnt catch me listenin to today cause my whole focus has changed since then. But just because i dont like it doesnt mean i wont post it, i know there's plenty of u out there that needs or listen to this so its my duty to provide it to yall.
I see my man Tapemasta at his spot puttin in OT work, i gotta uphold my end so he wont carry too much of the load. So im doin my part right now giving back. It might not be classic stuff but it was somethin that hittin back at that time!
Also remember people, i still have over 50+ classic mixtapes that i still need to post, but i have to get the tapes converted. And it costs a pretty penny to get all those tapes done, but im workin on it and when i drop that bomb my name will reign all over this mixtape blog world! Believe that!! So i have one Selecta Bam Bam joint to put up then im gonna get into those mixtapes i just got back from my friend. Believe me these joints will bring u back and u will glad i posted these.
Holla back and remember Recognize the Real is here to stay! Look out for the click which includes me, Tapemasta, Gildog, Soul, Olskool, djpos2, Marioka!! We comin like the Wu son!!

Selecta Bam Bam- Episode 1 The Dancehall Menace

Now we gonna switch tings up a bit with some reggae flava. Me personally i cant get into reggae, never really could. Unless its Mad Lion "Take it easy or Super Cat "Dolly My Baby" Remix then its all good. But neither than that i just cant do it. This DJ is known for holdin down the reggae tapes for a long while, he has many joints. Like i said from the beginning, i dont do this for me, i do it for yall. There's many people out there who jam reggae, and i want my blog to provide music all across the board! So I will be on the reggae tip for the next few tapes. Check it out & Keep it locked!! This one right here is from '99-'00!http://rapidshare.com/files/213616934/SBB-TDME1.rar

DJ Smooth Denali- Hip Hop Classics 5 Pt.2
This DJ is known for taking a different direction with his tapes. Instead of going the route every other DJ went with providing new music everybody has, he stayed with the classics. Whether its his Who's the Greatest Rapper series or his Best Of series, he kept it real! And on this series he kept it real again. Keepin it NY with this tape, there is not one song on here that should be skipped. If u play this in ur car and u skip a track then somethin is wrong with u or u just aint hip-hop! This should be played in its entierity every time u pop this in! So dont let me catch u skippin a song!! Enjoy yall!Monday, March 23, 2009
